Far East’s deficit of carrying capacity to China seen at 49 mln tns

VLADIVOSTOK, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- The deficit of cargo carrying capacities on Russia’s border with China in the Far East may reach 49 million tonnes by the end of 2025 if the border infrastructure remains the same, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev said on Thursday during a government meeting.

“It would be difficult to expand international economic relations without efficient work of the border infrastructure. … As of today, the deficit of carrying capacities is to reach 49 million tonnes by the end of 2025 given the current situation,” he said.

On Wednesday, Trutnev visited the Kraskino border crossing point with China, where a new border crossing point should be constructed by November 2024. He also said then that the Transport Ministry was to prepare draft regulatory acts in a week to speed up processing of documentation of trucks on the border with China and synchronize work of the Russian and Chinese customs.
